players for any free agent SP wanting a deal beyond four years; not players for any reliever wanting a deal beyond two to three years; and definitely not a player for a guy like Hosmer who is seeking seven years or more.
He led me to believe that they will get a reliever (Reed was his prediction) and starter, but either by trade or free agent one-year deal. Said Cards have all the money in the world, but will not invest in long-term deal. His opinion, of course. Should be interesting to see how plays out.
