Board Rules: A Reader's Labyrinth

This board is reserved for fan theories about David Mitchell's works. A thread should only be started here if it contains a theory. Every theory must follow these rules:

1. The theory must be supported – each new theory must point at particular story elements in a book, movie or short story to explain what it's based upon.
2. The theory must be new – it can contain elements from, or build upon, a previous theory, but it must have some substantial difference.
3. The theory must be possible, but not pre-confirmed. For example, a theory written in 2013 could plausibly be 'Dr. Marinus is immortal', but not in 2015, since 'The Bone Clocks' had been released by then, and the theory would already be confirmed.

Other than that, a theory can be pretty much anything.
